Sunekos®
Healthy-looking skin needs more than hydration alone. As we age, the skin gradually loses collagen, elastin and its ability to retain moisture, which can contribute to fine lines, laxity and a change in skin texture.
Sunekos® is an injectable skin rejuvenation treatment that combines hyaluronic acid with a specific combination of amino acids. At Woodford Medical Cambridge, we use Sunekos to help improve skin quality, hydration and elasticity while supporting the skin's natural regenerative processes.
What is Sunekos?
Sunekos contains non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid alongside six amino acids. Together, these ingredients work within the skin to support the extracellular matrix — the network that helps provide structure and support to skin tissue.
By helping to create a healthier environment within the skin, Sunekos can encourage improvements in hydration, elasticity, firmness and overall skin texture.
Unlike a traditional dermal filler, Sunekos is not primarily designed to add volume or alter facial contours. It is instead focused on improving the quality and condition of the skin.
What can Sunekos help with?
Sunekos may be suitable if you are concerned about:
- Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Dehydrated skin
- Loss of firmness and elasticity
- Crepey or delicate skin
- Dull or tired-looking skin
- Fine lines around the eyes
- Dark circles and changes in the under-eye area
- Skin on the neck and décolletage
- Loss of skin quality on the hands
- Certain textural concerns, including mild scarring
Sunekos can be particularly useful in areas where the skin is thin or delicate and where adding volume would not necessarily be appropriate.

Which areas can be treated?
Sunekos can be used across a number of areas where skin quality has changed over time, including:
- Face
- Under-eye area
- Neck
- Décolletage
- Backs of the hands
It can also be considered for certain areas of the body where skin texture and elasticity are a concern.
What happens during a Sunekos treatment?
Before treatment, you will have a consultation with a member of our Cambridge team to discuss your concerns and establish the most suitable treatment approach.
Sunekos is administered through a series of small injections into the skin. Treatment is relatively quick and involves minimal disruption to your day.
A course of treatment is generally recommended rather than relying on a single session. This allows the skin to respond progressively and gives us the opportunity to build on the improvements achieved at each appointment.
When will I see results?
Some patients notice an improvement in hydration and skin quality after their first treatment, with results developing further as the course progresses.
At Woodford Medical, we generally recommend a course of three treatments, approximately two weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments when appropriate. Your individual programme will be discussed during your consultation.
Results can include skin that feels more hydrated, looks smoother and appears firmer and more refreshed.
Is there any downtime?
Sunekos involves minimal downtime. Temporary redness, swelling or small areas of bruising can occur following the injections. These effects settle within a short period.
Your practitioner will provide you with specific aftercare instructions following treatment.
